Patient Testimonials

I had a last minute dental emergency on a Saturday. My front tooth (which had root canal and crown from 15 years prior at another office) broke off suddenly when I was eating. The break was very visible when I smiled, and I was leaving with my family for a Disney trip Monday! No offices were open and I was in a panic. I left a voicemail with Illume, but since the office was closed for the weekend, I had no expectation of a response.

Dr. Chen responded that day, and offered to come in on a Sunday to fix my crown! Not only this, but when I arrived, I saw her family in the waiting room, as they had all only just flown in from the airport from a trip. She had come back into town, and then directly to the office help.

You may presume I’m a long term friend or patient, but I am only just establishing here after 12 years with another office. The previous office didn’t take my new insurance, and finding a new dentist that is skilled and kind can be challenging. Dr. Chen is a gem. She fixed my crown and I had the best Disney trip ever!

I’m a forever patient of Illume Dental after this. Thank you Dr. Chen! — Elizabeth Stone

I visited 6 months ago, was told I needed some work done on a tooth that required a crown (not a complete root canal). I proceeded with the work and was given a temporary crown for 2 weeks, during that time I was in TERRIBLE pain but expected the permanent crown to resolve the problem. I got the permanent crown and was told there would be discomfort. I went home only to be writhing in pain a couple hours later and called the office crying and was told “take a Tylenol”. I had been taking Tylenol/Ibuprofen for 3 weeks from the initial work and ultimately decided to get a second opinion. I saw an Endodontist and was told in minutes I required a full root canal. I paid Illume a $1,000 after insurance and then had to spend an additional $1,000+ on work that should have been completed to begin with. Now 6 months later I am suddenly being told I owe them an additional $500. The initial work wasn’t even completed correctly or diagnosed correctly and I was totally dismissed while I suffered for a month. Absolutely ridiculous. — Ashley Padilla
